Pricing your home to Sell Vs Zillow Zestimate
One of the things that I love to hear from sellers, (specially those that are trying to sell their home on their own) is what they think their home is worth and why they think it's worth that.
I could probably write a book from all the answers that I have heard over the years, however the one that stands out to me the most in the past couple of years is "that's what Zillow Zestimate said my home was worth".
Since that seems to be a common trend, I have decided that instead of telling you that Zillow is not accurate, I'd rather just show you.

This is Spencer Rascoff' old home over in Seattle Washington, Spencer Rascoff was the CEO of Zillow. You'd think that they could at least get HIS Zestimate correct...
Wrong. The Zillow Zestimate was just over $1.5 Million.... And the home sold for just over a million.
Let me translate that. The Zillow estimate was over $500,000 off. Now, I know you are thinking, "Yeah, that's in Seattle" and you would be correct, but Zillow actually claims that they are usually 7.9% off.
Seven point nine percent...seems like a small number, but not when it equals the amount of money you could be missing out on from selling a $1 million dollar home.
Did you know that the Zillow Zestimate for a $1 million home could be off by as much as $79,000?
Do you want a better way? A more accurate way? Give me a call and lets talk about how I would price your home and get it sold for top dollar!
